Regional Terms & Mandatory Rights
Bee is operated from Singapore and may be sold worldwide where lawful. This supplement identifies mandatory local rights that may apply despite the Singapore governing-law and SIAC arbitration provisions in the Terms. It does not promise that every product, feature, or payment method is available in every country.
1. How this supplement works
- The Terms remain governed by Singapore law and commercial disputes remain subject to SIAC arbitration except where mandatory law requires otherwise.
- If a provision conflicts with a non-waivable right in your country, that right controls only to the extent of the conflict; the rest of the Terms remains effective.
- Business customers acting in trade generally do not receive consumer-only protections.
2. Consumers worldwide
- Nothing in the Terms excludes statutory guarantees, remedies, cooling-off rights, or liability that applicable consumer law says cannot be excluded.
- Before purchase, the checkout identifies the service, recurring price, billing interval, taxes known to us, and cancellation method. You may cancel renewal from the billing page. Refunds follow the Terms unless mandatory local law gives a more favourable remedy.
- Digital services may begin immediately after purchase. Where local law requires express consent to immediate performance and acknowledgement that a withdrawal right may be lost, we will request it at checkout; without that consent, the legally required waiting period may apply.
3. European Economic Area and United Kingdom
- Consumers retain mandatory protections of their country of habitual residence and any right to bring proceedings in a court that applicable consumer law preserves. The SIAC clause is intended primarily for business-to-business disputes and applies to consumers only to the extent enforceable.
- Eligible consumers generally have a 14-day withdrawal period for distance contracts, subject to statutory exceptions and the rules for digital services begun at the consumer's express request. Contact the billing address to exercise a withdrawal or cancellation right.
- EEA and UK privacy rights, international-transfer safeguards, and complaint routes are described in the Privacy Policy and DPA.
4. Singapore
- Singapore consumers retain rights under applicable consumer-protection law, including protections against unfair practices. Personal data is handled under the PDPA.
- Singapore law governs the Terms and Singapore is the seat of SIAC arbitration, subject to the consumer and statutory carve-outs in this supplement.
5. United States and California
- State consumer-protection and privacy rights apply where their statutory thresholds and scope are met. The Privacy Policy describes California rights and confirms that we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- Nothing in the Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under the law applicable to you.
6. Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Brazil, India, and Japan
Users retain non-excludable consumer and privacy rights under applicable local law. The Privacy Policy extends core access, correction, deletion, and consent-withdrawal handling to all users, while additional local rights are honoured where legally required. Statutory consumer guarantees prevail over inconsistent warranty disclaimers.
7. Taxes, currency, and import obligations
Prices are shown in the currency stated at checkout. You are responsible for taxes, duties, levies, and bank or conversion charges that the law places on you; we remain responsible for taxes the law requires us to collect, report, or pay. A contract cannot shift our own non-transferable statutory obligations to you.
8. Availability, export controls, and sanctions
Worldwide availability is subject to applicable export controls, sanctions, licensing rules, payment-provider coverage, and product-specific regulatory restrictions. We may refuse or suspend a sale where providing Bee would be unlawful or would expose either party to sanctions or export-control violations.
9. Disputes and costs
We first try to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation. For disputes validly subject to SIAC arbitration, the tribunal determines cost allocation under the SIAC Rules and applicable law. Customer indemnities apply only as stated in the Terms; they do not make a customer automatically responsible for every complaint, regulatory action, or legal cost.
